Dear Dragon Families:
It has been great to get into the swing of things and see scholars and parents at our virtual back-to-school night last Tuesday, August 31.
Below you will find information on our up-to-date COVID-19 Protocols. In the event of a scholar or staff member testing positive for COVID-19, we will coordinate to identify/notify our close contacts first. Regarding standard quarantine, if your scholar has symptoms or is a close contact, they are to quarantine for 10 days. It can be shortened to 7 days if a negative COVID-19 test is shown. We recommend that families get tested if they are showing any symptoms. All of our families are being very diligent with at-home health screenings which help keep the school safe. Please note:
- As of September 7th, all SFUSD staff will need to be vaccinated unless they qualify for an exception. Non-vaccinated staff will be tested every week
- If there is a positive case on campus, all identified close contacts will be notified via phone by the office before any general notification goes out to the whole school
- SFUSD is implementing a Standard Quarantine - 10-day quarantine with the option to shorten to 7 days (return to school on the 8th day) if a negative test is obtained after Day 5.
If you are notified that your child is a Close Contact…
- The office will call the parent/guardian
- Quarantine for 10 days (Absences will be excused)
- We highly recommend getting a COVID-19 test 5 days after exposure
- If the test is negative, your child may return to school on Day 8 of quarantine
- Share test results with the Office
- No Distance Learning/virtual learning option
- Teachers will send home assignments
- Independent study work is available for 10 day quarantine and over.
Close Contacts:
- A close contact is someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a total of 15 minutes or more over 24 hours while the infected person was contagious.
- People are not considered close contacts simply because they were in the same group or cohort.
- If the program cannot determine this or does not know, the person should not be considered a close contact.
- People are not considered close contacts simply because they are in the same classroom
What if it’s raining or if the air quality is poor?
- Implement alternate lunch and recess locations (Multipurpose Room)
- For air quality, we will follow SFUSD guidance

الاتصال القريب
- الاتصال القريب هو شخص كان على بعد ٦ أقدام من شخص مصاب لمدة ١٥ دقيقة أو أكثر على مدار ٢٤ ساعة بينما كان الشخص المصاب معديًا.
- لا يتم اعتبار الأشخاص على اتصال قريب لمجرد أنهم كانوا في نفس المجموعة.
- إذا لم يتمكن البرنامج من تحديد ذلك أو كان لا يعرف ، فلا ينبغي اعتبار الشخص على اتصال قريب.

Ha sido maravilloso entrar al ritmo de las novedades y ver a los alumnos y padres en nuestra noche virtual del regreso escolar el pasado martes 31 de agosto.
A continuación encontrarán información sobre nuestros protocolos actualizados de COVID-19. En caso de que un alumno o miembro del personal resulte positivo a COVID-19, nos coordinaremos para identificar/notificar primero a nuestros contactos cercanos. En cuanto a la cuarentena estándar, si su alumno tiene síntomas o es un contacto cercano, debe estar en cuarentena durante 10 días. Puede reducirse a 7 días si la prueba de COVID-19 es negativa. Recomendamos a las familias que se hagan la prueba si tienen algún síntoma. Todas nuestras familias están siendo muy diligentes con los exámenes de salud en casa que ayudan a mantener la escuela segura. Las pruebas de COLOR están disponibles para todas nuestras familias. Por favor, tenga en cuenta:

- Si la prueba es negativa, su hijo puede regresar a la escuela el día 8 de la cuarentena
- Comparta los resultados de la prueba con la Oficina
- No hay opción de aprendizaje a distancia/virtual
- Los profesores enviarán las tareas a casa
- El trabajo de estudio independiente está disponible para los 10 días de cuarentena y más.
Contactos cercanos
- Un contacto cercano es alguien que estuvo a menos de 1,80 metros de una persona infectada durante un total de 15 minutos o más en 24 horas mientras la persona infectada era contagiosa.
- Las personas no se consideran contactos cercanos simplemente porque hayan estado en el mismo grupo o cohorte.
- Si el programa no puede determinar esto o no lo sabe, la persona no debe ser considerada un contacto cercano.
- Las personas no se consideran contactos cercanos por el simple hecho de estar en la misma aula
¿Qué pasa si llueve o si la calidad del aire es mala?
- Implementar lugares alternativos para el almuerzo y el recreo (Sala Multipropósito)
- Para la calidad del aire, seguiremos la orientación del SFUSD
