PTA

The Alvarado PTA's mission is to support every student in reaching their potential by augmenting the core curriculum, enhancing the school environment, and cultivating a sense of community. We work hand-in-hand with school administration to organize events and programs and to raise the funds necessary to realize these activities. 

General Assembly meetings are open to all, but we encourage you to join the PTA (or renew) your membership if you'd like to be a voting member. Membership is $11 and is renewed annually. Contact president@alvaradoschool.net with any questions.

Alternatively, to learn more about volunteer opportunities you may contact Community & Spirit coordinators at communityspirit@alvaradoschool.net or leave a note in the PTA mailbox at school.

PTA Membership

We invite you to become a member of the Alvarado PTA, the body that represents the parent and teacher communities and determines how all our parent-raised money is spent. Membership in the PTA serves three purposes:

1. By joining the PTA, you help support the efforts of both the California and national PTA organizations, both of which do vital work advocating for our children at the state and national levels, respectively.
2. Your PTA membership gives you voting privileges at all Alvarado PTA General Assembly meetings, the meetings during which we discuss and approve (or reject) proposals for how to allocate funds raised by the PTA to diverse, and sometimes competing, academic and enrichment programs.
3. Finally, the bulk of your membership dues is used to directly fund programs at Alvarado.

PTA membership costs $11.00 per person. Members must RE-ENROLL EACH YEAR, but if the fee is a challenge it can be waived by contacting pta_membership@alvaradoschool.net.
