George R. Moscone Elementary School
Located in the historic Mission District, George R. Moscone Elementary has a multi-ethnic student body, rich in cultural and linguistic diversity. We have approximately 370 students in grades K-5. We service our diverse student body with programs in Chinese, Spanish and English Language Development. We focus on a rigorous academic program emphasizing language arts, math, science, social studies, balanced with performing and visual arts.

Enrichment and Intervention Programs
All students at Moscone participate in Movement & Dance Classes throughout the year, culminating in a dance performance at the end of the school year.
We staff one visual art teacher, and a physical education teacher; both work with all students throughout the year.
An instrumental Music Program is available in 4th and 5th grades.
All students work in the computer lab weekly, and have access to technology in their classrooms.
Our part-time librarian reads with classes weekly, and weaves on-line literacy into her instruction.
A Reading Recovery teacher supports struggling readers in the lower grades. Our Upper Grade Literacy Support teacher works to ensure that 3rd - 5th grade students continue to progress with academic language and accessing grade level content.
All classes enjoy learning outside of the classroom on field trips.
From classroom volunteering, to school government or fundraising, parents have many opportunities to be involved at Moscone. Parents are welcome to visit the school on Wednesday mornings at 8:15 a.m.
