Mission Statement

E.R. Taylor Elementary promotes intellectual development, physical and mental health, self discipline and cultural sensitivity, so that each and every student can achieve their fullest potential and be on the road to college.

E.R. Taylor Elementary: We are College Bound!

To achieve this mission, there is a phenomenal team at ER Taylor that works incredibly hard each day to support our students and families.  We have 30 classroom teachers, a team of teachers who lead our "specials" classes, and an amazing special education department that collectively have many years of experience and a depth of knowledge to push and support students academically, socially, and emotionally.  In addition, we have a Family Liaison, a Community Relations Specialist, 2 on-site School Social Workers, a School Nurse and partnerships with multiple community based organizations and the Excel After School Program.

As a school community, we also work hard to improve our instructional programs and strive to become better educators each day.  To support this work, we have a new Language Arts Coach, who is helping teachers strengthen their literacy instruction.  To further support our mission of ensuring each and every student is college bound, we are also implementing components of the  SFUSD ELA curriculum and framework that focuses on a Comprehensive Approach to Literacy, along with implementing the SFUSD Math curriculum, which gives students many opportunities to share their math reasoning, which is a centerpiece of the Common Core State Standards.

As a testament to the work we do to strive for excellence each day, ER Taylor has been honored as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2009 and received the Title One Academic Achievement Award from the State of California in 2010. In addition, ER Taylor was recognized as a State Shining Star School for our Comprehensive Student Support Services and has been named a California Distinguished School.
