Library

A database is a virtual library: it is a searchable collection of regularly updated reference articles, encyclopedia entries, magazine and newspaper articles, primary sources and images.

Databases contain information that is not available for free and therefore cannot be found with a Google search. When searching one of our databases, you are not searching the Web: you're searching pre-selected material that has been evaluated by professionals for reliability. Citations are always included. 

SFUSD pays for these databases, but they are free for SFUSD students and educators.

At school, all sites are available when logged into your SFUSD account (not browsing as a guest).

Ask your librarian for remote logins/passwords that allow access off-campus.
