Introduction

Attendance is taken within the first 30 minutes of the start of school. After teachers submit attendance, the office manually makes changes to attendance. Students are considered tardy starting from 9:30am.

Attendance and Tardy Reporting Procedures

Parents/guardians may notify the school in the following ways: email, written note, or phone call

Whenever possible, please notify both the teacher and the main office.

Absence notes should contain:

  • Student name (full legal name)
  • Grade level
  • Classroom teacher (if known)
  • Dates and reasons for absences
  • Name, signature, and relationship of the person who wrote the note.
  • Date of when the note was written

Parent/caregivers may turn in absence notifications at any time. If the reason for the absence is a valid excuse, students' attendance will be corrected.

Definition of Unexcused Absence:

Missing a full day of school, being tardy 30 or more minutes without a valid excuse.

Unexcused Absences Include:

  • Missing class or school without an excused or approved reason, whether the absence is student or parent/guardian/caregiver-initiated (e.g., for childcare or household shopping).
  • Absences for which advance approval is necessary and was not obtained before the absence.
