Overview
  • Who We Are

Access Bay Street, located in the heart of the Chinatown-North Beach community, has a rich tradition of delivering enriched curriculum to our diverse student population.  We involve our students in community based learning opportunities which promotes the joy of learning while addressing students' individual needs. Access Bay Street believes that all students should have access to an appropriate and quality education that prepares them to be  valuable members of the community. We believe that personal relationships between staff and students, and student to student are essential to student achievement. Students tell us they are the most engaged when they feel a connection with their teachers and can work with their peers. We believe that achievement is not an end result, but a process of continuous improvement, and that struggle, mistakes, and effort are necessary for growth.

    Our Vision

Access Bay Street’s vision is providing services and support for SFUSD’s transition aged students with IEPs that are characterized by quality, equity, and positive in-school and post-school outcomes.  We strive to involve our students  in meaningful school experiences, which include:

    • - a committed school community involved in ongoing professional development and school-wide decision making
    • - providing students necessary skills to become as independent as possible, which include, but are not limited to: self -help/advocacy, leadership, work-training, travel training, safety, continuing education, health and wellness, nutrition and cooking, money math, communication/social, and problem solving.
