Social Emotional Learning

Social Emotional Learning

McKinley is intentional in integrating Social Emotional Learning into our curriculum. We recently piloted and have now implemented the Second Step curriculum for social-emotional learning. This curriculum consists of 20-minute weekly lessons with follow-up throughout the week. The units focus on four different areas: skills for learning (i.e., listening, focusing attention, etc.), empathy, emotion management, and problem-solving. Each unit is tailored for each grade.
