Carver's Mission: The Carver Village is a caring community of educators who are dedicated to maintaining an environment of educational equity, high expectations for student learning in a diverse community. This includes treating all stakeholders with dignity, fairness and respect!

Carver Elementary School is dedicated to interrupting the racial and social inequities that overwhelmingly affect students and families of color. By listening to our students and families and creating an education environment that honors and celebrates them, we are creating pathways to success for students of all backgrounds. The whole Carver village also shows up to support our families and the full community. Our staff is always happy to help families who walk in asking for help with job applications, writing, tips, financial literacy and much more.

We believe that a rigorous education rooted in literacy will develop readers, leaders and 21st Century Scholars. Understanding that not all kids start at the same place academically, we measure success by measuring growth. Over the past three years, Black students at Carver have been improving in academic performance at a faster rate than SFUSD as a whole. From 2018-2020, Black students at Carver improved in literacy skills at a faster rate than average rates across the district.
