The Jefferson Elementary Library provides a welcoming and collaborative space for all students, staff, and families to support their academic, personal, and social development. As a joyful and inclusive learning environment, we provide equitable access to a diverse, high-quality book collection, makerspace materials, technological resources, and educational curriculum. The library’s services evolve to meet community needs, and encourage a love of reading, inspire creativity, and empower students with skills for lifelong learning.


Our library program includes:
Teaching multiliteracies: print, digital, informational, social-emotional, research, makerspace
K-5 classes visit once a week for 45 minutes
Library open at lunch recess for grades 3-5
Lunch programs: Best Buddies, Origami club
Makerspace materials: sewing, KEVA planks, Snap Circuits, Magnatiles, Legos, drawing, origami, collaborative sticker posters, cardboard
Technology: 1:1 Chromebooks for 4th graders, media/digital literacy lessons, typing club, Google Suite apps
