A Small School with a Big Heart
Sanchez Elementary is a small school with a big heart—a close-knit community where every student, staff member, and family is seen, heard, and valued. Our work is grounded in a deep commitment to social justice and high expectations for all students. We believe that learning thrives in partnership—when families, peers, and staff work together to support each child.
Safe, Trusting Classrooms
Our teachers create classrooms rooted in trust, respect, and positive relationships. Students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and explore new ideas. We draw from the shared values of our MOSAIC Project partnership—Mutual Respect, Open-Mindedness, Self-Respect, Attitude, Individuality, and Community—to build inclusive and respectful learning environments across the school.
Centering Language and Identity
Our Spanish biliteracy pathway is a cornerstone of our approach. We celebrate and build on students’ cultural and linguistic strengths, supporting Spanish-speaking students to become confident, capable learners in both Spanish and English by 5th grade. In both our biliteracy and English pathways, we design instruction to reflect students’ identities and experiences, and to engage them as curious, collaborative, and empowered learners.
Leadership at Every Level
We invest in leadership across our school community—students, teachers, and families. Student leaders model positive behavior and build strong peer relationships. Teachers collaborate and grow in leadership to strengthen instruction and support all learners. Parent leadership opportunities build family capacity to support learning and help shape our school’s future. Shared leadership builds shared ownership, making our school stronger.
At Sanchez, our goal is simple: to ensure every child has access to rich, engaging, and joyful learning experiences that prepare them for success and inspire a lifelong love of learning.
