Overview
-
Starr King Elementary School is a lively, student-centered and ethnically diverse community located atop Potrero Hill in San Francisco. The school’s mission is to provide a supportive and equitable learning environment that empowers students to be life-long learners and community leaders.
We are home to one of the most diverse student populations in SFUSD with 4 program offerings: General Education (EXL), Mandarin Immersion, Special Education and Transitional Kindergarten.
Starr King is the proud recipient of the 2024 California Honor Roll Award for academic performance - one of 23 elementary schools recognized in SFUSD.
The parent community at Starr King works closely with staff to ensure academic success of all students. This includes support for enrichment resources that are shared across the entire school community, as well as targeted resources for high-needs students such as early reading support, tutoring for non-native Mandarin speakers, and African-American leadership.
