Specifically tailored to students grades K–6 and families learning from home, the Oakland Museum is celebrating Black History Month. Experience this 30 minute virtual performance that acknowledges a history of oppression and celebrates the dreams and contributions of African Americans. Oakland a cappella group SoVoSó will lead a musical journey through themes related to the experiences of the African American community. Discover how music is a way to communicate the challenges and hopes of Black people—past, present, and future.

Date & Time: February 19, 2021 at 10 am. The recording will be available immediately after the live stream for classes and families who are not available or would like to celebrate Black History beyond February 19. Available until June 30, 2021.

Fees: Free for CA schools with 75% or more of students qualifying for free or reduced meals (TCS meets this criteria).
