We’re pleased to share that Red Rover, our time and attendance system, now displays leave bucket balances for sick leave, vacation, floating holidays, comp time, and PD Professional Development (Continuing Education). These balances will be visible beginning December 18, 2025.

The weekly Family Announcements Bulletin (FAB) is on Winter Break. OASIS will be on hiatus on Dec. 29. FAB and OASIS will resume on Jan. 8, 2026.

This memo is to inform you about new requirements that SFUSD will adhere to regarding the reporting of overtime (OT) beginning with the 2026 calendar year.  This change will go into effect as a result of a new federal income tax deduction for Qualified Overtime Compensation (QOC) as defined in One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) act of 2025.

This message is for classified employees who are represented by UESF and SEIU. If you are not in that category, this message does not apply to you and you do not have to read further. We are sending a friendly reminder to inform you that the Red Rover system is available for you to submit your floating holiday and/or vacation requests for the upcoming winter break.

Please share other food resources for families to access during the winter break.

Some SFUSD families who were eligible for SUN Bucks did not receive their card in June. If your child was actively enrolled between July 1, 2024 and September 2, 2025, they may still receive their SUN Bucks card in the next mailing, expected in January or February 2026 (please note: delivery is not guaranteed).

As you begin to have winter holiday and end of semester celebrations, please keep the Wellness Policy top of mind. Celebrations can be fun and nutritious!

San Francisco CalFresh recipients received a letter from the San Francisco Health Services Agency (SFHSA) with information about a one-time emergency prepaid grocery card from GiveCard to help buy food during the government shutdown. Activate their grocery card by December 31, 2025.

Asynchronous Brief Intervention Services Training via Nearpods. This training is required for new secondary School District Nurses, School Social Workers, Wellness Coordinators, SIT Interns, Community Health Outreach Workers, Deans, School Counselors and Community Based Organization Staff.

Start some new classes in the new year! New Conservatory Theatre Center workshops allow young people to explore drama in a fun, creative, and supportive environment. Using ensemble-based games and skill-building exercises, our highly trained teaching artists give each student a chance to shine.

English Learner Reclassification Round 1 deadline is approaching on Friday, December 19th.
Reminder emails, including links to the required forms, have been sent to teachers with the subject line “Finish your Reclassification form before Deadline, Friday, 12/19/2025.” If you received this reminder, please complete the forms.

Application to the Aspiring Teachers Program is now open. Paraeducators and other classified staff, including security officers, noon monitors, afterschool employees, as well as current employees who were previously admitted to Pathway to Teaching Cohort 8 are eligible.

This one-day institute will provide workshops on Language, Literacy, and Math instructional practices for
PK-8 teachers, coaches and administrators. Educators will sign up for workshops of their choosing.

When working on contracts, San Francisco Unified School District’s (the District) policy is to not accept changes, or redlines, to our contract templates. If a vendor requests changes to our template, please contact Procurement and we will assist with the issue. Do not contact Legal without consulting Procurement first.

Youth Art Exchange (YAX) is offering free after-school art classes for all SFUSD high school students. Learn directly from professional artists in disciplines like printmaking, photography, music production, animation, fashion design, architecture, and dance — no experience needed.

Inclusive Schools Week is a disability forward event that celebrates difference and promotes sense of belonging at all of our school sites. This year's theme is "Children First: Building a Stronger Tomorrow."

SFCAHT’s annual poster, writing and music contest provides to students a platform to learn about human trafficking and join the movement against this horrific crime. Deadline for submissions: Monday, February 23, 2026, 5PM PT

Memories in Memoriam- A group exhibition presented in the SoEx Project Space by Southern Exposure’s Youth Advisory Board. Opening Reception, Pop-Up Shop, & Zine Launch, December 13, 12pm-3pm. Free admission. Exhibition runs now until January 17, 2026. Gallery hours: Tuesday-Saturday 12pm-6pm

The Climate Action Youth Summit is becoming the Education Teams North Star. It is the event we put on at the end of the school year and around SF Climate Week. April 24, 2026 from 10am-2pm at Yerba Buena Gardens.

Registration is available for the San Francisco Math Circle's Spring 2026 term! The SF Math Circle is an extracurricular math enrichment program affiliated with San Francisco State University's Center for Science and Math Education. This spring, we're offering weekly in-person classes for 2nd-5th grade students at San Francisco State University starting the week of February 23.

Get ready for an exciting season of hoops at the Stonestown YMCA! Join us for a winter full of fantastic basketball action as we learn, grow, compete, and have fun together.

We have collaborated with Stanford to create a brief survey for K-5 teachers and coaches to complete to share their firsthand experience implementing Amira as a screener and a tutoring tool. Your feedback will help us understand which Amira features are most supportive of student learning and what additional guidance or resources might improve its use.
