The Human Resources Department in SFUSD is hiring for a 1241 Human Capital Recruiter within our Talent Acquisition Unit! As a Human Capital Recruitment Analyst, you will report to the Manager of Recruitment, and be a part of the Certificated Staffing Team within the Talent Acquisition and Assignment unit. You will play an integral role in achieving the mission and goals of SFUSD through supporting the execution of the teacher recruitment, selection and placement processes, and delivering excellent customer service to certificated candidates. This role specifically will play a vital role in recruitment and cultivation of Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander candidates as part of SFUSD’s April 2018 Board Resolution, which focuses on providing equitable services and staff for Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Students. The Certificated recruitment team as a whole will have a particular focus on increasing the number of candidates in our applicant pool, with a strong focus on recruiting educators of color, and cultivating high quality candidates for our district’s high potential schools. The Human Capital Recruitment and Staffing teams will be accountable for meeting recruitment goals throughout the school year related to building a larger pool of teacher candidates and ultimately increasing the rate of new teachers hired each year. This position offers the opportunity to have a profound impact on teacher quality and student achievement in San Francisco.
The strongest candidates will have:
● 1+ year of verifiable experience in a school district, educational non-profit or other K-12 setting; or 1+ year of experience as a teacher within an urban setting; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
● Experience with San Francisco public schools or other urban school district(s)
● Experience working with Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities.
● The ability to form strong professional relationships with candidates, central office, school administrators and other partners
● Experience in a goal-driven professional setting with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding those goals
● A high degree of cultural awareness and competency in cross-cultural practice
● Superb written and oral communication skills
● Ability to connect with people and interact with others with grace, competence, and warmth
Excellent data analysis skills and experience synthesizing data to drive action steps
● Superb computer skills, including Google Drive applications
● Outstanding organizational and event planning skills
● The ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
● Exceptional attention to detail
● The ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
● The ability to identify challenges and proactively work to find solutions
● A passionate belief in the mission of SFUSD and commitment to increasing the diversity and effectiveness of its teacher workforce in order to increase student achievement
Minimum Qualifications:
● Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
● One (1) year of professional human resources experience in one or more of the following areas of activity: recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee and/or labor relations, benefits administration and human resources operations.
Substitution:
Education Substitution - Verifiable professional human resources work experience in one or more of the following areas may substitute for up to two years of the required education on a year-for-year basis: recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee and/or labor relations, benefits administration and human resources operations. (One year of experience will be considered equivalent to 30 semester or 45 quarter units of college coursework.)
