Drupal currently saves a history of all revisions made to all webpages on sfusd.edu. Given that there are over 10,000 webpages, with more being added every day, the amount of revisions makes it difficult to back up the website and restore it (if necessary).
Going forward, we will be making the following changes to how Drupal saves previous versions/revisions of webpages on sfusd.edu:
- The last three months of revisions on a webpage will continue to be saved. For example, if you last updated a page on June 2, 2022, all revisions between March 2, 2022 to June 2, 2022 will be saved.
- After three months out, only the latest revision of each month will be saved. For example, if you last updated a page on June 2, 2022, only the last revision from Feb. 2022, Jan. 2022, and so on will be saved.
- Revisions to translations will work the same way and will not be affected by the last updated date of the English version of the page. For example, if you updated the English version of a page on June 2, 2022 but updated the Chinese translation on May 5, 2022, all revisions of the Chinese translation between Feb. 5, 2022 to May 5, 2022 will be saved.
