Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Advisory Committee Overview & Application
Please apply to serve on the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Advisory Committee. Each School Site Council may nominate a representative to the LCAP Advisory Committee. Representation on the LCAP Advisory Committee is an opportunity for parents and guardians to actively contribute to the formation, growth, and development of San Francisco Unified School District’s and San Francisco County Office of Education’s Local Control and Accountability Plan. The LCAP aims to ensure that the district addresses all of its students' needs and that the district is meeting the state’s eight priority areas: basic services, implementation of state standards, course access, student achievement, other student outcomes, student engagement, parent involvement, and school climate. The LCAP is a three-year plan that requires an annual update and is based on feedback from its staff, students, and community members. LCAP Advisory Committee members will play a key role in developing a new three year plan for school years 2024-2027.
Each school’s School Site Council may nominate a member to be an LCAP representative for the 2023-2025 term of service on the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Advisory Committee. SSC members may self-nominate as well. Each candidate must complete this application form. If there are more applicants per cohort than available seats, SSC members from the schools within that cohort will vote electronically from the slate of candidates to determine which applicants will be selected to the committee.
Representation of the LCAP Advisory Committee shall include students, parents, caregivers, or guardians and shall be composed of a majority of parents or legal guardians of currently enrolled students. The LCAP Advisory Committee shall include parents of students who are low income, English learners and foster youth and parents of students with disabilities (5 CCR 15495[f]; EC sections 52063 and 52069). LCAP Advisory Committee members should have geographic diversity and grade level representation.
Applications are due by Friday October 27, 2023 at 5 p.m.
