Traffic Advisory: Two Remaining Weekend Closures Scheduled for 19th Avenue

SFUSD May 6, 2026
Caltrans will be closing large portions of 19th Avenue on two upcoming weekends. The next closure begins this Friday, May 8 at 3 a.m. The closures may impact school drop-off and pickup traffic, in addition to weekend travel. Students, families, and staff should expect major delays and detours, and plan for significantly increased travel time, especially for school commutes, activities, and weekend events.

Red Rover Update: Leave Balance Requirements for Time Off Requests

Spring Amira Reading Screening Administration April 20-May 15 - NEW Due Date

Students in grades 1 & 2 who are newly enrolled, not yet screened in previous windows, and who scored at-risk during previous Reading Difficulties Screener administration will be screened April 20-May 15. The Amira platform is set up for ALL students to be assessed in grades K-5 upon their first log in within the window April 20-May 15 (NEW DUE DATE).

New Contractor/Consultant Account Onboarding Process

SFUSD is replacing its manual, PDF-based contractor onboarding with an automated Google Forms workflow to streamline account provisioning and reduce errors. Under the new system, accounts for contractors and volunteers are scripted within 24 hours once the digital policy is signed and verified by a supervisor.
