CYC Beacon Center Summer 2022 Program
The CYC Aptos Beacon Center is excited to announce our CYC Summer 2022 Program! Youth will have opportunities to participate in enrichment classes, academic learning, STEAM activities, college and career exploration, arts and crafts and recreational activities!
Program Dates: June 13 - July 22, 2022 (6 weeks)
Program Time: 9:30am - 3:30pm
Program Fee: It's FREE!!!
Program Location: Aptos Middle School, 105 Aptos Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94127
This program requires a 9:30AM-3:30PM, Monday through Friday commitment. Program is open to all San Francisco youth but priority will be given to high needs students, current beacon youth and Aptos students until 3/25/22. After this date, it will be first come first served except for high needs student referrals. We will notify families by May 16th, 2022 if not earlier of program acceptance. Families MUST complete our CYC Registration Form within 5 days of program acceptance.
SFPALLaw Enforcement Cadet Program
*Applicants must be 14 years old (Rising 9th)
The SFPAL Law Enforcement Cadet Program is a collaborative effort of SFPAL and the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD). Since 1959 the PAL Cadet Program has provided opportunities for growth, leadership, and career experiences for thousands of San Francisco youth — including many who have chosen to pursue law enforcement or public service careers.
Join SFPAL for our orientation on Wednesday, April 6 from 5-6pm and on Saturday, April 9 from 10-11am. Please register for one of our sessions here.
GoZen Teen Summer 2022 Virtual Internship
GoZen is offering a Teen Summer 2022 Virtual Internship,
If you are a teen, have a teen, or know a teen who is interested in mental health, comfortable on camera, and looking for a paid summer gig, this might be the perfect fit!
This virtual internship takes place over six weeks from June 20th until August 1st and requires between 10 and 30 hours per week.
*All applicants must be between 12-19 years old to be considered.

Breakthrough Summerbridge for 6th grade students
Breakthrough Summerbridge has provided academic enrichment to middle school students in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1978. Throughout the years, we have had the pleasure of meeting some of your families through our recruitment and admissions process, as well as having several join the Breakthrough Summerbridge program and community.

Summer Bridge for rising 9th graders
Youth Art Exchange
This summer Youth Art Exchange is offering two classes for rising 9th graders and above:
- ArtBuild: which is a combination of Architecture and another visual art discipline
- 2D Public Art: which will be primarily focused on mural painting
Students accepted into our summer classes will receive a $1500 stipend for participating. There will also be an opportunity for students to have their art displayed at the SFMOMA (more details to come!). Classes will run from 7/5 - 7/29, Monday-Friday from 10-4PM.
The deadline to submit is April 22, but we recommend students to apply as soon as possible since space is limited!

At Camp EDMO, Pre-K through 8th graders experience the spirit of summer camp while engaging in hands-on activities that unleash their inner maker, scientist, artist, and coder.
We currently operate in more than 30 convenient, safe, and beautiful locations and also offer online summer camps.

Camp Explore is geared towards K-6th graders interested in science, art, music, games, and learning adventures.Each themed week, campers will experience creative enrichment classes and then embark on an urban exploration adventure via our Friday field trip.
Camp Explore 2022 will run from June 13- July 29th, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm Monday through Friday ($350/week), with extended care from 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm (+$150/week). We're also seeking 7-12 grade Junior Leaders to assist our teachers and staff.

Free Urban Trail Blazers Program for Middle School Students
Respect, integrity, courage, and humility. These are values and themes that Urban Trailblazers (UTB) take on as they learn about social and environmental justice issues through exploration and service.
Urban Trailblazers (UTB) is a youth leadership program designed for middle school-age youth that welcomes culturally and economically diverse students from San Francisco public schools to experience their national parks.
We believe and know that the Summer Urban Trailblazer Program is an important program for the Middle School students in our community.
Participants earn a $250 award for full participation in the program.
We plan to have one session this summer and will be serving 48 students:
- 6-week session
- July 13 to July 29
- Mandatory Orientation on June 13
- Regular program days: Tuesday to Friday, 9:30 am to 3pm
- No programs from July 4 to July 8
- Summer sessions include 2 overnight trips at Yosemite National Park and Rob Hill Presidio
- Be currently enrolled in the 6th, 7th, 8th, and graduating 8th graders
- Attend a public middle school in San Francisco
- Be committed to attending daily sessions
- Complete an application, including questions, and parent or guardian signature
- Participate in a short interview on Saturday, April 9 and April 16, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm through Zoom

Camp Mendocino is an outdoor education and environmental awareness program focused on the character and leadership development of kids from disadvantaged circumstances. Since 1931, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco has been providing this creative, fun and supportive camping experience for youth ages eight to 18. We surround our kids with positive role models 24 hours a day to provide the love and encouragement they need to realize their full potential. ATDP Summer School at UC Berkeley
Administered through UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Education, the program offers challenging courses to highly motivated students who have completed Grades 7-11 (and are entering Grades 8-12). It provides students an opportunity to pursue their passion and deep interests by accelerating their coursework or taking classes not typically offered during the regular school year. 5-unit classes: varies (usually 2 days per week). 10-unit classes: 3 days per week. Greenager is a 7-month youth stewardship and leadership program for rising 9th-10th graders who live in or attend a school in the southeast or northeast neighborhoods of San Francisco.
As a Greenager, you will be trained to help improve our city’s green spaces and given leadership opportunities to help raise awareness on important local issues. You will help lead public volunteer service projects, participate in community events, go on fun team excursions, and more!

Summer Day Camps Offered by the SF Recreation & Parks Department
The San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department will offer a wide variety of day camps this summer. Registration opens on Saturday, March 19th at 10am. Registration will take place online at sfrecpark.org/register or through their Registration Hotline at (628)-652-2900. Phone-in registration will be available Saturday, March 19 from 10am-1pm, and then during regular business hours: Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm.
The Recreation & Parks Department will offer priority registration beginning on Monday, March 14th at 10am for families currently enrolled in their Scholarship Program. 50% of the Recreation & Parks Department’s available camp capacity will be offered during the priority registration period.
