Why do we fundraise? The CISDA PTA focuses a lot of energy on fundraising, and some families may be wondering why we do it. The San Francisco school district pays for our teacher salaries and provides some funding for school supplies; the PTA pays for everything else -- literacy tools (guided readers and books for the library in Chinese and English); dance, music and art classes for students; technology in the classroom (ELMO projectors and laptop computers); supplemental teacher training, workshops and classes; recess monitors and Playworks-like coaching – and a whole lot more. Your donations help improve the quality of CIS and make a significant difference in your child’s experience at the school.

• The Annual Fund is a direct appeal to all CISDA families for a donation that goes directly to the PTA. This happens in the fall from roughly October through December. All Annual Fund donations are tax-deductible and qualify for corporate matching.
• The Auction/Gala (plus raffle ticket sales) is an evening of fun and festivity where CISDA families and friends come together to bid on some amazing donated items, and all profits benefit CISDA. The Gala is preceded by a raffle ticket sale, and the raffle winners are chosen at the Gala.

1. Drop a check payable to “CIS PTA” in the PTA Box located on campus
2. Select the Donate button link through ParentDB for credit or debit card donations
3. PayPal donation using the email “cisdeavila@gmail.com” or the link below

Any donation you make to the CISDA PTA is tax deducible and may qualify for corporate matching as well. If your company doesn’t appear on this list, don’t fear! Many companies provide corporate matching funds for tax-deductible donations, so ask your Human Resources department if your company participates in a matching program.
