Supporting Peabody

The George Peabody Elementary spring gala is a fun and festive way for our community to come together and raise funds for the PTA-sponsored programs that make our school so great. Thanks to your generous donations to the Annual Fund, we are on track to closing the gap on the more than $1440 we provide per student in support of our literacy specialist, sports and arts educators, classroom supplies, and more. We are able to raise the funds we need to hit our goal through the donation of goods, services and sponsorships from the community and a stellar evening of food, drinks, music, and dancing.

Soliciting Donations

Reach out to the company you work for or businesses to whom you are a loyal customer. When asking merchants to donate goods/gift certificates, remind them that you are asking on behalf of the kids!

Use the included letter and form when approaching businesses. Don't be shy! Many businesses are awaiting your request. They rely on word-of-mouth referrals, visibility and community goodwill to help bring in customers. Giving to a school is a way for them to drive traffic to their businesses. It's a win/win; they are helping us, but we are helping them, too--and it's tax deductible.

Carry the forms with you when you are eating out and shopping. The most successful categories for our past auctions are: wine, restaurants, travel, sports, summer camp and entertainment.

When you approach someone for support, get his/her name and business card. Follow up. Making it easy by calling in a friendly reminder, and assisting with filling out or submitting forms is often critical to securing a donation.

Sponsorships range from $100 to $5,000 and custom sponsorships are available. Small-business owner? Place your business card in the event program for $100.

Host or Co-Host a Sign-Me-Up

Host an event, raise money and deepen your connections with our community. Past Sign-Me-Ups include: Mama needs a Margarita, Crab Feed, Kids Water Balloon Fight. You decide the event, the date, the number of people, and the cost per person. 

Perhaps you want to host a Sign-Me-Up but you don't have the bandwidth to organize it all yourself, or maybe you just can't come up with an idea. Our committee can help to pair you up with a Co-Host from the Peabody community or provide creative ideas for an event.
