Our Programs

At Guadalupe Elementary School, we think every kid deserves opportunities to study, grow, and shine! Our programs serve the whole kid, intellectually, socially, emotionally, linguistically, and creatively. We work hard to build a joyous, inclusive environment where every student belongs through quality curriculum, personalized support, enrichment activities, and strong partnerships with families.

Spanish Biliteracy Program: Our Spanish Biliteracy Program supports Spanish-speaking English learners and bilingual students as they build strong academic skills in Spanish and English and take pride in their language and culture. SFUSD’s K-2 biliteracy program is specifically designed for English learners and bilingual students who are native Spanish speakers.

Special Education & Individualized Support: We know students learn differently. Guadalupe has a Resource Specialist Program for kids with documented learning needs. We aim to create a fair and inclusive learning environment that enables students to access learning, build independence, and achieve success.

Literacy & English Language Development: Literacy is a foundation of Guadalupe’s academic program. Students receive targeted English language development (ELD), as well as reading and writing instruction, including whole-group and individualized small-group work.

Social-Emotional Learning & Student Support: Learning is more than just academics. Students engage in social-emotional development, including the Second Step curriculum. Mentors, a social worker, and student advisers help students build healthy relationships, confidence, responsibility, and a sense of belonging.

STEAM & Creative Learning: STEAM is infused in the Guadalupe experience. Students have access to individual Chromebooks or iPads. Students have the opportunity to use technology as a tool for learning, creativity, problem-solving, and discovery.

Arts, enrichment & after-school opportunities: Students are provided the opportunity to participate in music, visual arts, dance, artists-in-residence programs, and after-school programming, encouraging them to discover interests and abilities beyond the regular classroom.

Family & Community Partnership: Guadalupe values families as a vital aspect of our community. By working together through multilingual communication, workshops, school events, volunteering, and PTA involvement, families and educators form a strong school community and promote each child’s achievement.
