Hello Lafayette Community,

We hope you all had a wonderful week of learning.  Today I got the chance to walk through our entire school to see the completion of the construction project.  The school looks amazing!  While we aren’t going to be allowed in the building yet, if you get the chance to take a walk around the perimeter of the school, you will see the updated yard including the new garden area with raised planter beds, outdoor eating area, newly installed basketball hoops and freshly painted playground.  You will also see a dry creek bed and newly planted bushes, flowers and trees throughout the campus.

I wanted to take some time to express the importance of daily attendance during Distance Learning.  We have adjusted our Distance Learning schedules so that instruction begins at 9:00 AM, that is an hour and ten minutes later than our in-person start time.  We did this to ensure the highest attendance possible.  Please make sure to attend class each day and be on time.  If your child is going to be absent, please let your child’s teacher know.

November 16th-20th will be parent-teacher conference week.  Our goal is to meet with each family about your child’s progress.  Your teacher will be reaching out to you soon with a schedule, in order for you to sign up for a conference.  During conference week, teachers will be adjusting their daily instructional schedules to maximize their accessibility for conferences.

The weather has been extremely nice over the last few days.  We hope you are able to get outside and enjoy some time together with your family.  Be sure to take care of your mental health needs and get yourselves and your children out from behind a computer for some much needed fresh air.

Have a great weekend.  Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Go Dolphins!
