Dear Lafayette Families,

We hope your children enjoyed their first week back.  We are very excited to be back and the week was fantastic!

Welcome to all of our new families, and welcome back returning Lafayette families.  We have started our Stop, Drop and Go, student drop off program on Anza Street.  This program is run by the PTA and they need volunteers to run it.  I am attaching the Parent Volunteer Sign-Up Form so that you can sign-up to help if you are interested.

Please utilize this drop off program so that we are not creating a dangerous environment by double parking or parking in white bus zones.  We each have a responsibility to be safe above all else.

I wanted to share another opportunity with you that involves volunteering to support in supervising our students during their outdoor lunch/recess times.  While I am currently trying to add more noon time support, there is a shortage of applicants.  We would benefit from consistent volunteer support during our student lunch times.  The lunch times are from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  Also, if you are interested in or know someone that would be interested in a paid noon time position, this could be an option as well.  Please reach out to me at hodgsonj@sfusd.edu is either of these opportunities are of interest to you.

We will be holding our Back to School Nights virtually this year.  There will be more information on this soon, but we wanted to let you know that they are scheduled as follows:

  • Kindergarten through Second Grade, Wednesday, September 1, from 6 to 7 PM.
  • Third Grade through Fifth Grade, Thursday, September 2, from 6 to 7 PM.

Please save the date(s).

Every Wednesday this year will be an early dismissal.  We had a significant number of students picked up late last Wednesday.  Please make note of this change.  School is out at 12:50 for all students in 1st through 5th grades and 12:40 for kindergarteners every Wednesday.

Lastly, please make sure to keep dogs off of the campus when dropping off or picking up your children.  This includes all dogs that are not service animals.

We are looking forward to another great week.

Sincerely,

Lafayette Admin Team
