Announcement Message

Hello Flynn Families,

We are excited to welcome our Flynn Eagles for in-person and distance learning in the month of April! We are reaching out to share some initial information around Flynn’s in person learning schedule and some important upcoming dates in preparation for in-person learning and the associated schedule changes.

At our site, considering the dimensions of our classrooms, furniture limitations, class size limits, plus the number of students who want to return at each grade level, we are able to provide two days per week of in-person learning to those families that requested it. Students in a Special Education Day Class will return five days per week. Fortunately, we are able to have all students continue with their current teacher and language program.

Starting the week April 19th for TK-2nd Grade, and the week of April 26th for 3rd-5th grade, Flynn will begin hybrid in-person learning, where students choosing to come to school will be in-person from 8:30am-1:30pm, two times per week (either Mon/Tues or Thurs/Fri), with a stable cohort of students and their teacher. To meet the health and safety guidelines, students from each class will be assigned to Group A or Group B. Below you will see a sample schedule for in-person learning for students who are assigned to Group A or B.

What does this mean if I plan to send my student for in-person learning?

  • In the coming week, you will receive an In-Person Family Placement Packet from SFUSD in ParentVue and your email. If you do not have an email address connected to the school, you should receive the packet in the mail. It contains a confirmation of your in-person school placement, in-person learning guidance, safety protocols, and forms that you must complete and submit prior to returning to in-person learning.
  • You’ll need to attend a Mandatory Family Orientation for In-Person learning on Monday, April 12th, from 6pm-7pm, at the link bit.ly/aguilasjuntas. This orientation will provide information about required forms, guidelines, and commitments that our Flynn community is making to ensure a healthy and safe school experience.

What does it mean if I am choosing to have my student continue fully in Distance Learning?

  • We will be sharing an updated schedule for Distance Learning that includes at least two hours of synchronous learning on Zoom each day. We are planning to provide a range of synchronous learning on Zoom intermittently between the hours of 8:30am and 3pm. Students in Distance Learning will have daily lessons with their teacher.
  • We encourage you to attend the Family Orientation on Monday, April 12th, from 6pm-7pm at the link bit.ly/aguilasjuntas. This orientation will provide information about required forms, guidelines, and commitments that our Flynn community is making to ensure a healthy and safe school experience.

We invite you to join us for the following upcoming meetings, and make note of these important dates:
