• Lockers 

  • Lockers have started being assigned through 2nd Period teachers. If you would still like a locker, please bring your own lock and talk to your 2nd Period teacher. 

• Lunch clubs

  • We hosted our Fall lunch club fair this past Tuesday (8/25). Students were able to sign up for clubs they are interested in. Lunch clubs officially start next week Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Students can learn more about lunch clubs here. Please reach out to club advisors for lunch passes if you didn't get a chance to get one. 

School Site Council (SSC) 

The School Site Council (SSC) is an elected or selected group representative of the school’s staff, parents, and in secondary schools, students. 

Each SFUSD school must have an elected School Site Council (SSC) to represent parents, students, community members, and school staff in the school governance process. The SSC has a number of important responsibilities, including:

• Reviewing and analyzing student achievement data,
• gathering community input,
• helping develop the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and the school site budget,
• and monitoring the implementation of the plan and budget.

We have monthly online meetings via Zoom from 5:15-6:30pm, language interpretation is provided.

English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC)

The role of the ELAC is to advise the principal and School Site Council on programs and services for English learners. The ELAC acts in an advisory capacity. It is not a decision making body, but it is the voice of the English learner community. Specifically the ELAC:

• Advises on the development of services for English learners in the Balanced ScoreCard/Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). 
• Assists in the development of the school’s needs assessment and efforts to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance.
• Has representation on the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC).

We have meetings on a quarterly basis. 

Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) 

PTO is in charge of fundraising to supplement the school celebrations, teacher appreciations, and other needs. This group of parents and family members works with Francisco staff and Beacon to create community events.  

We have monthly meetings either in person or online. Time is dependent on PTO Board member’s availability. 

First PTO Meeting is on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, 5-6pm.

FMS Positive Rewards & Restorative Disciplinary Processes

This document outlines what happens when students make good choices, and what happens when/if they don’t make good choices. It also outlines how we restore harm when it’s  been done.

For the safety of your child and the pedestrian traffic we have, DO NOT:

• Pick up your child in front of the school gate.  We must keep the loading lane clear for SFUSD Special Education buses.
• Double park on the school’s surrounding streets, Francisco, Powell, Stockton or Chestnut streets.

Tips for positive attendance

Here are updates you need to know:

1. Update your contact information: sfusd.edu/contactinfo to ensure you receive school and district notifications.
2. Complete your Emergency Card Form online for school year 26/27. If you completed this before June 30, you need to submit a new form. Please visit sfusd.edu/emergencycard for more information.
3. Complete Acknowledgements for school year 26/27. For more information, visit sfusd.edu/acknowledgements. 
4. You can now report FULL DAY absences in Parentvue! To learn how to report full day absences in ParentVUE, you can view video instructions and instructions on how to submit full day absences on desktop or the mobile ParentVUE app. 

If you forgot your password, click  the “Forgot Password” link and enter your email address to receive instructions on how to reset your password. Contact your school site to get an activation key and visit sfusd.edu/parentvue for more information on your account.

The Beacon program at Francisco supports students with programming during the school and before and after school.  Students must be registered in order to  participate in before and after school programming. The registration form includes the multipurpose income form. FMS asks ALL families to do this, whatever their income. It provides important information for the school.
