Hello Lafayette Community,

Happy Friday the 13th!

Next week, November 16-20th, is parent-teacher conference week.  Our goal is to meet with each family about your child’s progress.  Your teacher has been reaching out to you with a schedule in order for you to sign up for a conference.  Please make sure you have signed up. During conference week, teachers will be adjusting their daily instructional schedules to maximize their accessibility for conferences.  Please be flexible.  If you have a child receiving special education or related services, your services will stay as scheduled unless the teacher has notified you of any changes.

Your classroom teacher will detail your child’s academic progress during the first trimester of Distance Learning.  They will only be reporting on and discussing progress on the standards that they have covered and were able to assess up to this point.

Teachers will be starting their conferences with you by conducting a general wellness check with a few questions.  This will be replacing the phone calls you received last trimester.  Please let your teacher know if you have any additional needs or would like other staff to reach out to you for resources.  We appreciate you taking the time to meet for conferences and both inform us about and learn more about your child’s progress.

There is a lot going on in the press regarding school buildings reopening.  I wanted to continue to make sure you had access to the most up to date information regarding in person learning.  The information I am receiving is being shared by the district through a dashboard that I am including here.  Please bookmark the link for the most up to date information that is coming from the district.

The District continues to provide grab and go meals for all students.  Please follow this link for more information including pick-up sites.  Grab and Go Meal Information.

The District’s Department of Technology also provided this helpful information regarding a Directory of Family Technology Resources that may prove useful to you and your family.

School will be closed from November 23-27 for Fall Break.

We hope you continue to have a great week and look forward to conferences next week!

Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Go Dolphins!
