Welcome Back Lafayette Community!
We hope you enjoyed time with your families over the course of the last week. We are excited and look forward to the reopening of Lafayette Elementary School for Hybrid Learning. There are undoubtedly a lot of questions as we head into the next week, and we hope to answer most of these questions at our reopening orientation on Friday at 3:00. This orientation will be recorded and posted on our school’s website if you can not view it live at that time.
We want to make sure a few things are clear to start this week as we have had a few questions. First off, we know you received information about registering your children for the spring reopening. The letter you received from the district may be confusing. We wanted to attach a district link to information surrounding this topic that will hopefully clarify the process. That information can be found here.
While school starts for PreK-2nd grade next Monday, April 12, not all students will return Monday. Only students that were assigned Monday/Tuesday will begin on April 12. The first day for Thursday/Friday students will be April 15. The same procedure will be applied to students in grades 3rd-5th on the following week. Monday/Tuesday on April 19, and Thursday/Friday on April 22. All students in those classes will be in distance learning on Wednesdays. Students in PreK-5th grade SDC classes will all be attending 5 days a week starting Monday, April 12.
There will be no after school programming when the school reopens on April 12 through the end of the school year. Please make sure your children are picked up at their dismissal time.
We wanted to make sure you were aware that school lunch will be available each day for any student that would like a lunch.
We are still working out the logistics of arrival and dismissal of students. We are looking into several options and will have more clarity around this as the week progresses. We know this is something you are thinking about and we want to ensure the safe arrival and departure of our children.
