Social-Emotional Curriculum

Flynn uses the Second Step Curriculum to teach weekly lessons to our students about important skills such as managing emotions, controlling reactions, being aware of other's feelings, and how to problem-solve.

Kimochis® is a playful and engaging social-emotional learning program used in our classrooms to help children build emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, and positive relationships. Using a cast of lovable characters and emotion "feelings" pillows, students learn how to recognize and manage their emotions, express themselves in respectful ways, and resolve conflicts peacefully. Kimochis helps create a safe and caring school environment where all students feel seen, heard, and valued.
