As we are fast approaching the summer, we would like to share some important information and updates about the 2025 summer and 2025-26 school year permits.

Advance your child’s athletic journey with SF All-Stars Camp!

High school students living, attending school in, or with a strong connection to District 3 (Chinatown, Nob Hill, North Beach, or Russian Hill, and more!) are encouraged to apply for the District 3 Youth Council! Applications are rolling, but it is advised to apply before March 12 at 11:59 p.m.

New Conservatory Theatre Center is thrilled to offer Bee Amazing! – a fast-paced, interactive play designed just for SFUSD students in grades K-3.

2nd Annual Lalaga Le Ato Summit! Elementary & middle school sites must sign up their rising 6th and 9th grade NHPI students to participate.

Applications for the San Francisco Department of Elections Spring 2025 High School Elections Ambassador program are now available.

Boat Building Program for 8th - 10th graders where participants will learn about traditional wooden boat building technique.

Chinatown Hackathon - Largest High Schooler Only Programming Competition in San Francisco.

Grease - School Version! will be showing March 14-15 in the Presidio Auditorium.

Beginning in 2025–2026, students in kindergarten, grade one, and grade two must be screened (using a state approved assessment) for risk of reading difficulties per Education Code Section 53008. All K-2 Educators and school leaders are encouraged to attend an upcoming K-2 Reading Screener Review Session on Wednesday, March 12 from 3:30-5pm. Register via bit.ly/AAOPDRegistration

The San Francisco Arts Education Project launches the 30th anniversary of its arts summer camp, SFArtsED Summer. Three sessions (each two weeks) arranged by age and interest. For ages 6-14.

W-2 forms have been processed and mailed on January 29, 2025. Please allow up to 10 working days to receive them via USPS. An electronic copy of your W-2 will also be available on EmPower on February 1, 2025.

At SFUSD we are dedicated to making digital literacy part of literacy in general. With vast amounts of information available online, it's crucial for students to develop the ability to critically evaluate sources, identify misinformation, and discern credible content.

From March 3-7, 2025 there will be a city-wide Ride Contest where students will have the chance to log their rides and complete daily challenges digitally or physically on a Challenge Book provided to schools.

The CRAFT Network is focused on bringing folks together who are interested in maker-education and/or STEAM and equity. The focus for this series of gatherings is to build local connections, create plans for taking action (projects, grants, writing, etc), and start moving our visions forward!

The SFUSD CAC for Special Education recognizes and celebrates the individuals and groups who support, inspire and teach students with exceptional needs. Please read more and nominate someone below by Friday, February 28th!

Virtual and In Person Restorative Practices Training Opportunities this Spring!

The Health Services Dept. will be offering centralized training for designated site staff who are supporting students with the following: Asthma, Seizures (emergency medication administration), EpiPen, Narcan.

If you are interested in enrolling in the Classified School Employee Summer Assistance Program (CSESAP) for the 2025-26 school year, please submit the enrollment form on the employee intranet CSESAP page by March 1, 2025. No applications will be accepted after the deadline.
