Please join the CAC for a community conversation about the SFUSD SELPA Local Plan on Thursday, May 28 from 6-8pm. Attendees will be able to provide feedback on the 2026-2027 SFUSD special education policies, governance and budget as well as the special education service plan. The information gathered at the meeting will inform SFUSD Special Education and CAC priorities for the coming year.

Reclassification Round 0 is happening now. The list of eligible EL students has been shared with teachers. Next steps are Teacher Recommendation and Parent Consultation. Form is due June 10th.

Teachers who are recommended for hire during this window- May 11–15 --may accept positions without requiring release from their current principal.

This virtual event is for parents/caregivers and supportive adults of foster youth and/or housing insecure students who are in high school and wish to learn about SFUSD credit recovery opportunities.

On Thursday, May 21, the Enrollment Center at 555 Franklin Street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for staff professional development training. The office will reopen at 1 p.m. that day.

Looking for volunteer experience this summer? If you will be in grades 8–12 next school year, can contribute at least 10 hours of service and would like to gain experience for school and job applications, apply to be a Summer Youth Volunteer.

Trimester 3 Standards Based Report Cards (SBRCs) are now open for scoring, and scheduled to be completed by May 20. Use the TK-5 SBRC Scoring Guides at bit.ly/SBRCTeacherGuides to support the scoring of report cards, and communicate how students are making progress toward end-of-year standards. Translated Report Card resources are available for families are posted at https://sfusd.edu/reportcards.

Students in grades 1 & 2 who are newly enrolled, not yet screened in previous windows, and who scored at-risk during previous Reading Difficulties Screener administration will be screened April 20-May 15. The Amira platform is set up for ALL students to be assessed in grades K-5 upon their first log in within the window April 20-May 15 (NEW DUE DATE).

Star results for all students in grades K-2 and 9-10 are now due by Friday, May 15. Read to find resources for supporting successful administration and data use.

Get a head start on next year with Inquiry Journeys, SFUSD’s newly adopted Social Studies curriculum centered on inquiry-based, culturally relevant learning. This PD will help teachers build confidence with the curriculum through hands-on exploration of instructional materials, pacing guides, and practical classroom strategies; extended hours compensation will be provided.
