Students are a part of a Math Pilot called Teaching Through Problem Solving using the Japan Math curriculum. They can receive additional differentiated instruction to meet their individual needs.
Enrichment at Flynn Link to this section
Art/Dance: TK–5th
Students enjoy visual art classes every week, all year long, with our art teacher. Our students also participate in dance classes where they explore different types of movement.
Music: K–5th
Our 4th and 5th graders enjoy weekly instrumental music classes. Other grades will take part in a focused music programming throughout the year. Music is also integrated into our school’s classroom environment.
Science: K–5th
In class, students explore an Amplify-based curriculum. They also expand on their science learning with field trips to Mission Science Workshop, the Exploratorium and the Academy of Sciences supported by the PTA.
Library: TK–5th
Every week, students visit our library, stocked with English and Spanish books, and are supported by our experienced bilingual librarian.
Physical Education: TK-5th
Students get 100 minutes of PE each week in alignment with California State Standards, keeping them active and healthy. Flynn also partners with Playworks for an on-site coach who leads games during recess and lunch, teaching basic skills, teamwork, and good sporting behavior. We also bring soccer to the school yard by partnering with SF Youth Soccer and Street Soccer USA, giving students even more chances to play, learn, and build community.
Technology: TK–5th
Students explore digital literacy, computer science, and programming with our Computer Teacher. Each classroom has access to Chrome books that are available for students to use.
