Ana de Arce

Ana serves as Assistant Superintendent of PK-8 Schools at San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). Before this role, she was an Assistant Superintendent of Elementary, a Director of Principal Support and Development, an elementary school principal, a teacher on special assignment, and a classroom teacher, where she learned the love of facilitating learning and nurturing curiosity for each and every one of her students.

Ana is a first-generation American who learned to code-switch and navigate between cultures, her heritage language, and expectations. Born and raised in San Francisco, her love for education and hunger for learning is rooted in her experiences attending all SFUSD public schools from elementary through high school.

She is the first to attend and graduate from university in her family. She holds a BA from San Francisco State University (SFSU), a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from SFSU’s Clinical Schools Program, and an Administrative Services Credential. With a deep appreciation for the value of lifelong learning, she is pursuing a doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership at the University of San Francisco.
