Using SFUSD’s approved communication tools ensures the safety and privacy of our students as we communicate with families. The following options are available to use in communication with families
- Use Synergy to Communication with Parents and Students - Admins can quickly and easily communicate with parents and students by Sending Mass Email or Posting Announcements. With this handout, learn how to send messages to the email provided by a parent and/or to a student SFUSD email. Also, learn how to post announcements to Synergy ParentVUE and StudentVUE.
- Using ParentVUE - Communication with families during this extremely sensitive time is vital. ParentVUE is the best way for families to update their contact information to ensure they receive district and school notifications. Families may visit www.sfusd.edu/parentvue for more resources. Questions? Visit Family Portal Activation Toolkit. As a reminder, school administration and clerical can also update family contact information in Synergy.
- SchoolMessenger: Teachers can send and receive messages from students and their families through the SchoolMessenger app. Learn how teachers can get started with SchoolMessenger. Administrators can quickly communicate and send broadcasts to families using the SchoolMessenger Broadcast Step-by-Step Guides.
- Send a Screencast: During distance learning, teachers can share screencasts with parents and students who may not have regular access to their own device through ParentVUE or by email to be accessed on a phone or a parent’s device. - View an overview of the various tools and options for communicating with Staff and Families.
