New Teacher Orientation
Vision
We believe that onboarding and orienting our newest educators to SFUSD’s equity mission and vision, core curriculum and signature strategies will help you to be more successful in teaching and learning while you build connections to other new colleagues as you launch your career with SFUSD.

Outcomes
- Ground new teachers in SFUSD’s vision of equity, anti racist teaching and deeper learning
- Provide teachers with the specific skills to teach for the first few weeks of school
- Provide teachers with the nuts and bolts that will allow them to focus on teaching
- Provide opportunities to connect with other teachers in the same grade/subject area

- We offer a variety of workshops to orient our newest educators to our common core math, science, language arts, safe and supportive classrooms, taking online attendance, and more!

Laptops for Educators (L4E)
For information on accessing a device prior to NTO, visit the Laptops for Educators (L4E) website and scroll to where you see New Teachers. You’ll receive an email from HR before doing that step.
New Hire Guide
Check out our New Hire Guide to review information you need as a newly hired certificated staff member. You will need to complete your onboarding via the Google Classroom shared with you by HR and make an in person appointment for fingerprinting and your photo ID.
