As the deadline is fast approaching for families to accept their assignment in a San Francisco public school for the next school year, I want to provide some insight into our enrollment system.

SFUSD is a choice enrollment process.  Students may request placement in any school within the district.  When there is more demand than seats available at a school, grade or program, assignments are determined by a process of tie-breakers that vary in elementary, middle and high schools and by language programs.
