This memo is to inform you about new requirements that SFUSD will adhere to regarding the reporting of overtime (OT) beginning with the 2026 calendar year. This change will go into effect as a result of a new federal income tax deduction for Qualified Overtime Compensation (QOC) as defined in One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) act of 2025.
We’re pleased to share that Red Rover, our time and attendance system, now displays leave bucket balances for sick leave, vacation, floating holidays, comp time, and PD Professional Development (Continuing Education). These balances will be visible beginning December 18, 2025.
The required Winter 2025-26 administration of the Star interim assessments is scheduled for January 12- February 4 for grades 8-10, and January 26-February 20 for grades K-7. When working on contracts, San Francisco Unified School District’s (the District) policy is to not accept changes, or redlines, to our contract templates. If a vendor requests changes to our template, please contact Procurement and we will assist with the issue. Do not contact Legal without consulting Procurement first.
SFUSD schools will be closed from Dec. 22 through Jan. 2 for Winter Break. Schools will reopen on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026. SFUSD offices will also be closed to the public for in-person services from Dec. 22 through Jan. 2.
