During summer, SFUSD school sites support community programs while Facilities and Custodial teams prepare schools for the first day of school. To allow for deep cleaning and readiness, SFUSD will enforce a facilities blackout period from July 20 - Aug. 16, 2026

The Department of Elections (DOE) has sent notices directly to sites to let site principals and administrators know that their site has been identified as a polling site for the November 4, 2025 Statewide Special Election.
In the Fall of 2025, beginning on August 19th, all K-12 school facilities will be inspected by an independent consultant in compliance with the Williams Settlement Legislation and SARC Reporting. The Facilities Inspectors will be visiting all rooms to determine whether the facility is in good repair.
