Current 9th to 12th grade San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) students and SFUSD-affiliated charter schools 9th to 12th grade students with an active K2C account are invited to participate in the contest by creating a video, a poem or a persuasive speech. Students are encouraged to participate in their preferred language. SFPUC will award scholarships of $500 each.

Reach & Rise is a mentoring and youth development program run by YMCA of San Francisco as part of its Urban Services initiatives. The program supports youth who may be experiencing challenges such as family stress, school difficulties, social isolation, or exposure to community violence. Learn how to become a mentor and/or how to register a youth for the program.

San Francisco Department of Public Works (SFDPW), SFUSD, and SF Environment Department are hosting a Neighborhood Beautification Day and Arbor Day Fair on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Come volunteer and plant trees! Kid-friendly games and activities!

In partnership with The Port of San Francisco, San Francisco Opera is taking opera out of the Opera House on a shipping-container-turned-stage. Bring your family and friends, enjoy the beach and new playground, and experience this free one-hour version of Puccini’s famous La Bohème.

Upcoming dance workshops provided by the YMCA. Classes offered for 2nd-5th grade in styles such as Ballet and Kpop.

Registration is now available for the Stonestown YMCA Specialty Spring Camp during Spring Break.

SFUSD is inviting educators, families, and community members to serve on the Voices Curriculum Review Committee. This is an opportunity to work together to review and strengthen the district’s pilot Ethnic Studies curriculum and ensure it reflects our values and the diversity of San Francisco. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please fill out our interest form by Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 5 p.m.

We are excited to announce there is a new Biliteracy Program Participation Recognition Award promoted by the California Department of Education available to all 5th graders enrolled in programs leading to bilingualism and biliteracy. This award serves as an entry point on a student’s pathway to earning the Seal of Biliteracy upon graduation from high school.
