VISION: A premier performing arts middle school that prepares the Aptos Scholar to master academic standards, demonstrates 21st century skills, develops unique perspectives to navigate high school and ultimately the world with a sense of purpose, while upholding the Tiger Values.
MISSION: Aptos Middle School's mission is to provide an enriching, engaging, and empowering educational experience with equitable outcomes for each student using critical pedagogy and research-based, multi-tiered systems of instruction and intervention to promote student self-mastery, scholarship, and social justice.
Core Values: Known as "T.I.G.E.R. Style," our core values reflect a universal code of ethics along with the character traits necessary for student academic success and positive social-emotional growth. The values form the word "tiger" and represent the following acronym:
- TEAMWORK: All means all, by all means necessary.
- INTEGRITY: Commitment to honor moral and ethical values and principles.
- GRIT: The courage to fail; the passion and perseverance to succeed.
- EMPATHY: Understanding and sharing others' emotions and experiences.
- RESPONSIBILITY: Accountable for every word and every action.
