Announcement Message

The ML Progress Monitoring Report on Illuminate is a tool available to support school sites and educators in determining if multilingual learners (English learners) are progressing adequately in their development of English language proficiency.

The report identifies students' ELPI level which aligns with the California State Dashboard’s measure of student progress on the ELPAC. The report also identifies students’ ML typology which identifies Potential Long Term ELs (PLTELs) and Long term EL (LTELs) so that intervention and targeted supports can support students in progress towards English language proficiency.

Long term ELs are students who have been in U.S. schools for six or more years, who have not made significant progress in English, and who lag behind their peers academically.

More information can be found in the ML Progress Monitoring Guidelines.
