All SFUSD schools and offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7 for Labor Day.

The SF Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026. Public open session begins at 6:30 p.m.

Families can now download the new ParentVUE and StudentVUE apps on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. While older versions of the app will still be functional, they will be retired soon.

The annual housing survey is essential in identifying students experiencing housing transitions, instability, and homelessness who qualify for McKinney-Vento support and making sure they know their educational rights.

SFUSD and Paradigm Healthcare Services will communicate with families about health and mental health service programming, student records, and health insurance information. Parents/guardians will receive targeted outreach for consent and health insurance.

Monthly automated truancy letters will be posted to Synergy next Friday, September 11. Please ensure that attendance data is correct and complete by the end of the day Thursday, September 10 to assure the accuracy of the truancy letters.

SFUSD’s 2026-27 Climate Action Student Fellowship applications are open to SFUSD high school students, thanks to our partnership with the SF Public Utilities Commission.

SFUSD is a partner with Sandy Hook Promise. As part of this partnership, SFUSD uses the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System (SS-ARS). The system provides a safe and secure way for students and concerned adults to share information about potential threats or warning signs of someone who may be at risk of harming themselves or others.

Beginning in September 2026, key sections of Special Education assessment reports will be translated initially, with full translations available upon request.

The Student Health Advisory Board (SHAB) is hiring new members for the 2026-27 school year!

Advocating for Your Black Child (A4YBC) is a free, 8‑week psycho‑education series designed specifically for Black parents and caregivers of Black children and youth (elementary through high school). 

Project Avary’s Outdoor Leadership Program has been at the heart of our work for over 25 years. Starting as early as age 8 through age 25 (and beyond as counselors), youth participate in summer camp, weekend retreats, and day-long outings across Northern California.

Roll your dice and apply to the Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) Internship at San Francisco Public Library! Run weekly D&D sessions for youth during the school year. Applicants must be in 11th or 12th grade and either reside or attend school in San Francisco.

Study Smart Tutors offers several free classes, both virtual and in-person, to help teens prepare for college applications, job interviews, SAT testing, stress management and more.

Apply to join the Youth Advisory Board! This paid internship gives you a space to serve as an advisor, reviewing the library's teen services, and as an ambassador, promoting programs and events to fellow teens all around SF.

Have your child get their spike on at the Stonestown YMCA! Participants will be taught the fundamentals and rules of volleyball in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.

Registration for San Francisco Youth Theatre's fall classes are open! We offer classes for Pre-K thru 12th grade. No student turned away for lack of funds. Classes begin September 14.

Join New Conservatory Theatre Center's fall classes! Classes are here to help young people explore drama in a fun, creative, and supportive environment.

Inspiring Young Emerging Leaders (I-YEL) is a paid high school leadership program for youth attending San Francisco and Marin public schools from October to May. Apply by October 2.

SFMTA is adding service, capacity and new connections on several Muni routes to make it easier for students to get to schools, including Francisco Middle School, Lowell High School, Hoover Middle School, Rooftop School and Aptos Middle School.
