Announcement Message

Since 1990, SFUSD LGBTQ Student Services has been helping make our schools inclusive of our whole community. Through efforts like celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month and supporting key dates throughout.

  • October 11th is National Coming Out Day. The Trevor Project has put together these two great handbooks to help youth and their trusted adults navigate what can be both a joyful and vulnerable time.

  • October 15th Sign-up for Caring For Our Kids: Put on by the SFUSD Wellness & Health Education Action Team each session will be 45 minutes followed by Q&A. The first of our new series will focus on Supporting Queer Kids: Policies, Practices and Supports. Open to caregivers, educators, and administrators from 6:00pm-7:00pm. Use this form to register for the webinar or sign-up to be notified of our future presentations.

  • October 15th is International Pronoun Day! It’s a great opportunity to learn about gender diversity and how we can use language to help everyone in our community feel seen and supported.

  • October 16th is National Spirit Day. Spirit Day is a great opportunity for students, staff and schools to go purple and take the purple pledge to put an end to anti-LGBTQ+ bullying.
