Dear SFUSD Community:
Thank you to everyone who has joined our recent budget town halls and shared your feedback and ideas. Your input continues to shape how we make decisions and improve these conversations. I am reaching out to remind you about our two upcoming budget town halls to continue this important dialogue.
We hope you’ll join us:
- In-Person Town Hall: Saturday, Nov. 8 from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm at Marina Middle School
- Virtual Town Hall: Thursday, Nov. 13 from 5:00 - 6:30 pm (Zoom link available upon RSVP)
At SFUSD, we deeply value the voices of our students, families, and staff as we make decisions about how to allocate our resources. Over the past year, we’ve made meaningful progress toward stabilizing the district, investing in our students’ learning, and ensuring our educators have the tools and support they need. We balanced our budget last year without teacher layoffs and began the school year with fully staffed classrooms — important steps that we’re proud of.
As we enter the second year of a multi-year effort to balance our budget, we know there’s still work ahead. These town halls are an opportunity to share your thoughts about what matters most in our schools and where you believe our investments should be focused.
