Announcement Message

Some SFUSD families who were eligible for SUN Bucks did not receive their card in June. If your child was actively enrolled between July 1, 2024 and September 2, 2025, they may still receive their SUN Bucks card in the next mailing, expected in January or February 2026 (please note: delivery is not guaranteed).

How to Check Eligibility

  • Log in to your SchoolCafe.com parent account, go to Eligibility Information and review your eligibility letters under Notifications.

  • Need help locating your letter? See the SFUSD Student Eligibility Letter Guide (English, Spanish, Chinese).

  • If you cannot find your letter, email schoollunch@sfusd.edu for support.

Common Questions

  • My child graduated and is now in college. Are they still eligible?
    • Yes. If they were eligible and enrolled in an SFUSD school at any time during the eligibility period 7/1/24–9/2/25, they should qualify.

  • Can SFUSD confirm if my data was sent to the SUN Bucks office?
    • SFUSD can confirm your child’s eligibility status, but we cannot guarantee card delivery. Free or Reduced eligibility must have been established during the 7/1/24–9/2/25 for June 2025 Summer Sun Bucks.

  • How do I update my physical address with SFUSD?
    • A physical address is not required to receive your SunBucks card. To update it, submit the Change of Information Form at bit.ly/sfusdaddress. For phone, email, and text updates, use your ParentVUE account at portal.sfusd.edu. Families experiencing homelessness: SunBucks cards will be sent directly to the student’s school. Questions regarding the address on file, please email enrollinschool@sfusd.edu, call 415-241-6085.

  • How can I qualify for 2026 Summer SUN Bucks?
    • The student must attend a school that participates in the National School Lunch Program and meet one of the following during the eligibility period July 1, 2025 – September 2, 2026:
      Be Directly Certified (CalFresh, CalWORKs)
OR have an approved Free or Reduced-Price MFIF on file in SchoolCafe.com/sfusd
OR be identified as Homeless, Foster, or Migrant by SFUSD.
If your student meets any of these criteria, their information will be included in the next data upload to the state for the June 2026 SUN Bucks program. If you have additional SUN Bucks questions, please visit https://www.cdss.ca.gov/sun-bucks or call 877-328-9677.

Questions regarding student eligibility please email schoollunch@sfusd.edu and include student information.
