When SFUSD needs to send notifications to large groups, we contact families by phone, email, and text message using SchoolMessenger, one of the most widely used communication platforms in PreK-12 school districts.
Messages are sent using the contact information provided on a family’s enrollment application, emergency cards, and the Family Portal (ParentVUE). Schools may also request updated contact information from families as needed.
SFUSD and SchoolMessenger do not share student or family information, and all communications comply with federal student and user privacy regulations.
