Announcement Message

As San Francisco hosts Super Bowl activities next week, please note that street closures and traffic detours, especially in Union Square and SoMa, may affect your commute to school.

From the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA):

Information is now available about transportation impacts expected over the days surrounding Super Bowl LX week, Friday, Jan. 30 through Tuesday, Feb. 10. In support of this major regional event, we are preparing for parking changes, as well as street and sidewalk closures expected across San Francisco as the city prepares to welcome tens of thousands of visitors in and around Downtown, and neighborhoods across the city.

Super Bowl Experience - February 3-7, 2026, at the Moscone Center

  • There will be street closures and traffic detours in the areas surrounding Union Square and in SoMa near the Moscone Center from Friday, Jan. 30, to Tuesday, Feb. 10
  • Muni service will not require any reroutes during any of these events
  • Detours will be in place, and local access for deliveries and Paratransit will be maintained throughout the festivities

There are also related events citywide the weeks of Jan. 30 - Feb. 10. However, these events will have limited impacts to traffic and Muni service due to street closures.

Families and staff who travel through Union Square and SoMa to get to school should plan their trips and allow extra travel time from Friday, Jan. 30 to Tuesday, Feb. 10.
