2026 marks the 22nd year of the annual celebration of Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in San Francisco, and this year's celebration theme is "Elevating Cultures." 

As part of the celebration, the AAPI Youth Change Maker Awards will be presented to an AAPI middle school student and an AAPI high school or college student in recognition of their distinct impact in the San Francisco AAPI community through voluntary service or projects.

Deadline for Nominations is Friday, March 27, 2026. 

All the nominations will be reviewed by the AAPI Heritage Month Youth Advisors. 

Award recipients will be announced at the AAPI Heritage Month Kickoff Press Conference during the last week of April, and the award presentation will take place at the AAPI Heritage Awards event at the Herbst Theater on May 6, 2026.
