How to Ensure Students Receive Their 2026 Summer SUN Bucks

Now is the best time to make sure our eligible students receive a $120 SUN Bucks card in the Summer of 2026! 

If you received a 2025-2026 Direct Certification letter for your student in your email, that means you are all set! If you have not received a Direct Certification letter or are not sure, you have until March 31, 2026 to submit the 2025-2026 SFUSD Multipurpose Family Income Form (MFIF) online at SchoolCafe.com and mark “yes” for SUN Bucks.  It is recommended that you review your MFIF results letter and reapply if you made a mistake or have changes in the household.  SFUSD Directly Certified students and Students with Free or Reduced MFIF Results and marked yes for Sun Bucks, should receive a $120.00 SunBucks(EBT) card.
 
Eligible families must also ensure that their mailing address with SFUSD Enrollment Center is up to date so their card gets to them. To update your contact information in ParentVue, visit website portal.sfusd.edu,  email enrollinschool@sfusd.edu, call 415-241-6085.

Timeline:

  • Eligibility for SunBucks 2026 began on July 1, 2025, and goes through August 31, 2026.
  • Eligible students between now and March 31,2026, should receive the Sun Bucks during the summer. 
  • Eligible students between April 1, through August 31, 2026, should receive the Sun Bucks during the winter.
