Senate Bill 57 (Scott) allows eligible individuals to complete a Commission-approved professional teacher induction program at a faster pace than the two years required to complete the traditional program. The intent of the law is to serve experienced and exceptional candidates who have not yet completed one year of a CCTC-approved induction program. Upon completion, a teacher will have met the induction requirement on the preliminary credential. ECO teachers complete Induction in one year instead of two years, entering as Year Two ECO candidates.
To apply for the Early Completion Option, you must meet the following requirements.
|A teacher must hold a CA Preliminary General Education (multiple subject or single subject) or Preliminary Education Specialist or Level 1 credential and be employed in SFUSD
|Completed two or more full years of recent teaching experience (excluding student teaching) as a full time teacher of record
|Evidence of teaching from the most recent previous teaching assignment that meets or exceeds a standards-based teaching evaluation based on California Standards for the Teaching Profession, or from SFUSD, a rating of Highly Satisfactory or Outstanding
